GENERAL PURPOSE HELICOPTER PROCUREMENT PROJECT

The objective of the General Purpose Helicopter Project is the procurement of 84 General Purpose Helicopters for the need of the Turkish Armed Forces and other public institutions by using local industry resources as much as possiblle on a production model based on cooperation with AgustaWestland or Sikorsky.

Following the Defense Industry Executive Committee meeting held on December 5, 2007, the current tender was cancelled, and it was decided to start negotiations with Sikorsky and AgustaWestland on a production model based on long period cooperation within the context of procuring general purpose helicopters which Turkish Armed Forces and the other public institutions need.

Activities, regarding the realization of the project under the model with the main contractorship of TAI, are ongoing.
