COUGAR AS-532

Under the EUROTAI consortium, Eurocopter and TAI co-produced a total of 30 Cougar General Purpose, Search and Rescue and Armed Search and Rescue helicopters (10 for the Turkish Land Force and 20 for the Turkish Air Force), required by the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF), between 1997-2003. This program is important as it is the first rotary wing aircraft production program of TAI.

The first two helicopters were manufactured at the Eurocopter facilities in France, whereas the remaining 28 helicopters were produced at TAI facilities. Except for the engine, pall and the gear box, 100% of the fuselage of the helicopter was produced at TAI facilities. Within the framework of the program that covers manufacturing, assembly, systems integration and flight tests, the program was successfully realized when the last helicopter was delivered in June 2003.

COUGAR AS-532 (UTILITY)

TAI manufactured and delivered a total of six Cougar AS-532 Utility helicopters to the Turkish Land Forces between 1997-2003 years.

COUGAR AS-532 SEARCH AND RESCUE (SAR)

TAI manufactured and delivered a total of four Cougar AS-532 SAR helicopters to the Turkish Land Forces and 14 SAR helicopters to the Turkish Air Force between 1997-2003 years.

COUGAR AS-532 COMBAT SEARCH AND RESCUE (CSAR)

TAI manufactured and delivered a total of six Cougar AS-532 CSAR helicopters to the Turkish Air Force between 1997-2003 years.
